Mr. Francis O. Bassey speaking at the event |
It was a gathering that
attracted men and women from all works of life recently in Lagos as frontline academician
Francis O. Bassey inaugurated his foundation, Make Illiteracy History Foundation.
The even also witnessed the launching
of his recent book entitled: Tragedy of
Ignorance at LUTH, Mushin Lagos.
The renowned author attended
Chartered Institute of Administration-Lagos (ACIA), Imo state university
(B.Sc), University of Ibadan (MBA).
He is also a management
consultant, resource person, a seasoned lecturer, a researcher and motivational
speaker.
Speaking on his ne
foundation, Bassey said, My foundation, Make
Illiteracy History Foundation is a body established to constructively wage
war against illiteracy & assist the less-privileged children & youth to
go to school. I am the author of the book Tragedy
of Ignorance.
On his latest book “Tragedy
of Ignorance,” the soft-spoken author voiced, “the book is didactic in nature. It provides practical
methods that could change one’s situation from grass to grace. It reveals that
nobody was created special, that failure as regards those in that category is
more of those individuals determination than the plan of God. The book reveals
that no time is too late to go to school for a better future.”
On why he floated the
foundation, the Nsit Ibom-born writer said, “I discovered that, our youths are
in self-induced captivity in the so-called big men houses as house boys and
girls. It is due to ignorance. Our Foundation is set to liberate them from that
bondage and send them to school for a better future. We are also preparing to
work with Akwa Ibom state government to ensure the message of free education is
understood and appreciated by all. Including those in the interior part of our
state,” he told IbomCelebs.
IbomCelebs was there live at the event and brings you
