Akwa Ibom Youth Convention,’’UYO CITY 2014’’ (Celebrating and Inspiring Akwa Ibom Youths) anticipated to be bigger and better.

Organisers of Akwa Ibom Youth Convention,’’UYO CITY 2014’’ a yearly Akwa Ibom Young minds inspirative event put together by Ibom Youth Pathfinder aims at bringing all Akwa-Ibom youth from all walks of life together to promote our rich cultural heritage and Celebrate and Inspire them to be good ambassadors of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large. 

The event with a theme: “TOWARDS THE FUTURE WE WANT’’ will kick off with a glamourous red carpet by 9am on May 10th 2014 at the Prestigious Ibom Hall, Uyo City, Akwa Ibom State. Through ‘’UYO CITY 2014’’ edition the platform seek to inspire Akwa Ibom State youth by bringing to them success stories of celebrated Akwa Ibom State Youths who have successfully pursued their dreams by utilising their innate talent and have risen in their various industries. Ten (10) outstanding youths  from various walks of life who are constant sources of inspiration to Akwa Ibom State Youths can challenge Akwa Ibom youths through their various success stories to think outside of the norm and pursue careers utilizing their God giving skills and talents. The success stories will be delivered live to Akwa Ibom State Youth on stage through an Interview session. This will inspire, discover, explore and make our youth think outside the box and realize their full potentials.

According to the Chairman BOT, Ibom Youth Pathfinder, Nsikak Tom Udo,a Chartered Accountant,a member Chattered Institute of Arbitration, and member Lagos Court of Arbitration, the event seeks to promote,advance and celebrate the dynamic growth of Akwa Ibom state youths in all walks of life like actors,actresses, students, models, sports men and women, scientist, engineers,fashion designers, architects, nurses, business men, models, comedians, pilots, farmers, medical doctors, nurses, broadcasters, journalist, mechanics and many more.With the popularity of Akwa Ibom Youth Convention the organisation has played a pioneering role in promoting and harnessing Akwa Ibom youth towards greatness so that they become good ambassadors of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.He further stated that event in its Fourth(4th) edition have achieved a lot in reigniting hope and positioning Akwa Ibom Youths for the future, as Akwa Ibom youth has the capacity to be great and we have successfully been unlocking the greatness, potentials and awakening the hero in Akwa Ibom youths.It also provide opportunity for Akwa Ibom youths all over the world to come withness the uncommon transformation and development in our home state. The turn out for this event globally is highly impressive. Selected successful Akwa Ibom Youths to inspire through success stories include Favour Ibok, Best graduating student in University of Lagos, Uduak Oguamanam foremost Movie producer and Managing Director of Royal Art Academy, Ini Edo Award winning actress, Udo Mariam popular xylophonist, Ini Ememobong former National Association of Nigerian Student President and Special adviser to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Student matters, Venesa Koko popular Award winning actress, Nature Udoh a foremost Youth Brand Consultant and Chairman of Nature Udoh Group, Brandiny Mbang, founder of award winning Mask Dance Group, Uwem Umoh, President of Akwa Cross film foundation, Ime Bishop popular Nollywood Comedian, Feron Aaron popular Akwa Ibom Fashion designer and entrepreneur, Sir James Popular Akwa Ibom State comedian, and Victor Ayara, popular Newcaster and presenter with Silverbird Television. Special Guest of honour at the event is His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio (CON). Within two years we have pioneered and successfully raised a new generation of forward thinkers and now we are taking Akwa Ibom Youth Convention to the next level. With remarkable improvement in every edition, the most anticipated Akwa Ibom Youth event has become a huge Akwa Ibom Cultural entertainment platform.

 Asuquo Eventus a planning commitee member of the event stated that ''at Akwa Ibom Youth Convention we do not only guard and protect the light embedded in Akwa Ibom Youths, we move it foward into the world with full confidence that if we connect light to light and join the beautiful lights of the numerous young people of Akwa Ibom state today, it will be enough to set our dear Akwa Ibom State aglow!

According to Aniekan Eshiet, President of Ibom Youth Pathfinder in Lagos State, with Uyo City, Akwa Ibom State hosting and welcoming (for the first time in history) Akwa Ibom State young minds from all over the world this is a landmark achievement that will boost domestic tourism and we are happy this landmark event is happening during our time. The event has achieved popularity and grown immensely due to its credibility and reputation over the years for delivering to what it promises to Akwa Ibom youth in Celebrating and inspiring the youth. The current Akwa Ibom youths are young, energetic, brimming with ideas and exposed like no other generation of Akwa Ibom youth, yet we seem to have already resigned ourselves and allowed our back ground keep our back on the ground, let us not be distracted by irrelevant things, hence a change of attitude amongst Akwa Ibom Youths.

According to Ufford Kingsley, President of Ibom Youth Pathfinder Italy, this event has provided many Akwa Ibom State Youths that have never visited home before to visit their father land and our youths here are delighted to be a part of a remarkable event like this.
