Maritime industry guarantees our future in A’Ibom –Guber aspirant and Maritime Expert, Michael Onofiok

 Michael Okpo Onofiok, Akwa Ibom State governorship hopeful in 2015 has called for the diversification of the economy to make the state less dependent on oil revenue.
According to him diversification of the economy through massive investment in Maritime Industry, education and industrialisation would tackle the state economic challenges. The maritime expert aspirant in a terse message posted on his Facebook wall called on the State Governor, Godswill Akpabio to appoint a Special Assistant on Maritime Matters.
According to him, “The machinery to improve on our economy, enlarge our revenue base, restore our integrity and completely revamp the ailing wellbeing of Akwa Ibom people can only be drawn from the maritime armoury.”
Engr. Michael Onofiok is a maritime expert of repute who has an eye in the 2015 gubernatorial seat of the state. He was recently appointed into the Advisory Board of the Presidential Mega Coalition Committee by President Goodluck Jonathan; a body made up of religious and traditional leaders empowered to seek for peace and reconciliation of aggrieved Nigerians.
