Apostle A.N. Okeiyi, Area Superintendent Ogba, The Apostolic Church Nigeria, performing the ordination on the Prophet and Senior Pastor of Pillar of Cloud and Fire Church of God International.
“So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David” (I Samuel 16:13).

This bible passage was reenacted last weekend, Sunday, June 9, 2019, as Prophet David Akpan was ordained Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Pillar of Cloud and Fire Church of God International and the church also inducted.
The ceremony, which attracted notable personalities in Christendom, was held in the church’s auditorium at No. 48, Ipodo Street, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Apostle A.N. Okeiyi, Area Superintendent Ogba, The Apostolic Church Nigeria, was the guest minister who performed the ordination ceremony. Other anointed men of God who graced the occasion included Pastor Dr Udo Eyo, President, Akwa Ibom Clergy Forum, Apostle S. N. Akwa TACN Great Solid Rock, Missionary Area, Lagos and Apostle Raphael Elijah, Deliverance Apostolic Gospel Ministry among others.
Apostle Okeiyi as he anointed Prophet David Akpan prayed for him thus: “God I pray that You give him the wisdom, utterances to declare your word without fear or favour, unction to function, knowledge, insight required to do your work, received the spirit of discernment and truth. Today, every authority that stood against you in your formative years are vanquished in Jesus name; the power that led the twelve, and they were seen as men of signs and wonders and whose shadows the sick were healed, that same power is released on you now; from this moment, you are lifted; it shall be well with you, your ministry; you shall not fail or slumber in Jesus’ mighty name I prayed.”
In his respond, Prophet David thanked all the officiating ministers, his church members, family, friends and guests who turned up en masse to honour him. He appreciated God who helped him so far. According to him, Pillar of Cloud and Fire Church of God International started as a fellowship in 2016 and grew to become a church in June 2018. “Today makes it a year since we started as a church to the glory of God,” he said.
“Today is one of the happiest days in my life and ministry, as a former member of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, it has always been my passion and zeal to serve God and to be His humble servant, that is why when I started this ministry three years ago, He alone has been my source of strength and power. Today marks a new milestone in this ministry and the glory of this present house shall be greater than the former in Jesus name,” he prayed.
The Church was inducted and the foundation laid in the name of Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Dr Udo Eyo, President, Akwa Ibom Clergy Forum, one of the officiating ministers, admonished Prophet David to be wary of three most dangerous enemies of the ministry, namely food, money and women.
“If you want to succeed in the ministry, you need to stay focus, be prayerful, preach the truth without fear or favour, always looking up unto Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith who is the head and the foundation of the church,” he counselled.
Those ordained alongside Prophet David were his wife, Deaconess Rosemary David, Mr Ephraim Obot, Mr Leo Uwanaobong (all three as evangelists) and Mr Patrick N. Iwa who was ordained an Elder.
