President/Founder,
FRAUSUSS Children Empowerment Foundation (FSCEF), Princess Mercy Suess, a
native of Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State married to a
Ludwigshalfen German, Mr Christian Suess is one woman with a heart of gold as
God has deposited in her heart a strong passion for the down trodden and the
less privileged children in the society.
On Sunday February 16,
2020 at H4A, Flash Estate, 2/4, Felicia Kolesoho Street, off Agbaoku Street,
Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, Princess Mercy, the mother of three through her foundation
gathered orphans from several orphanage homes and family support centres to
feed, empowered and to put smile on their faces and also to make them feel that
they are actually not forsaken and abandoned.
Food items ranging from,
bags of rice, beans, gallons of palm oil, cartons of indomie, spaghetti, tubers
of yam, toiletries and etc from kind-hearted donors were distributed to all of
them as there were also much to eat and drink at the event.
Its interesting to note
that, this amazing, kind-hearted woman does this every two weeks monthly in the
city of Lagos.
When our correspondence
asked how long she has been doing this and how many children has she actually
impacted and empowered since she started, she has this to say: “When I was
about the ages of 3 to 6, I watched my mother nurture other less privileged
children and supported their parents in our community. The same experience
continued with my elder sister, Mrs Doris Ekong-Isong, whom I was living with in
Lagos at the age 6, from that time till now, I have not looked back.
To respond to your
question on how many children I have impacted, she continued: “That will be
uncountable, a whole lot because, basically, what we do at FSCEF, we try as
much as possible to work with groups of children (the existing groups), like
orphanage homes, family support centres, children in rural areas, we have
touched so many lives which time will not permit me to start mentioning one
after the other.” “As we speak, we are having a football championship from
March 9th to 14th, 2020 in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State and
it is called Madam Celina Football Championship for primary schools children;
time will fail me, if I should begin to mention them one by one, we have
impacted, we have touched so many lives in our own little way by the special
grace of God,” she added.
Princess Mercy, who is
B.Sc holder in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from National Open
University therefore, appealed to the amiable chairman, Mr Atuekong Hon. Ubong Idiong, Oruk Anam Local Government
Area, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Mrs Martha Udom
Emmanuel, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, HE, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and other
prominent Nigerians to come in and support what she is doing in the Local
Government Area and to the less privileged children in Nigeria in general as
they will never go unrewarded and blessed by God Almighty.
The Chairman, FSCEF
Foundation, Mr Christian Suess told IbomCelebs that his wife has been into
charity all her life. “She has this strong passion for less privileged
children, any time she sees them, she will stop at nothing to see to it that,
they are happy. And as her husband, it is my responsibility to give her full
support for the project. It is my earnest desire that this program continue
every week instead of every two weeks because this children need to eat three
square meal every day. But the challenge we face is that, donors are not coming
the way we are expecting it. He therefore, called on well to do Nigerians to
always give to the needy and help the helpless,” he pleaded.
The event was fun-filled
as children from over five orphanage homes and family support centres which
include among others, Precious Pearl Charity Home, Abule Egba Family Relief
Centre, Ijamido Children’s Home, Dynamic Life Family Relief Centre, FSCEF
Family Relief Centre, Mafoluko, Jehovah Upper Room, So-Said Charity Home etc
were presence and they all did drama, songs, choreography presentations and
also talk on topics like Honesty, Punctuality, etc and awards were given to the
best presentation.
In the same vein, Global
Education advocate and Filmmaker, Zuriel Oduwole, 17 years was a special guest
at the event, she flew in all the way from the USA to grace the occasion,
she ceased the opportunity to talked
and inspired the children. According to her: “I started film making at 7 and
educational advocacy at 9, if I was able to start that at that younger age, you
too can do same.” “Do not allow any body, I repeat, anybody to ever tell you
that you cannot achieve your dreams. Always believe in yourself, be positive,
believe in God and I can assure you, the sky will just be the beginning for
you. The only person who can stop you from being what you want to be is you, do
not limit yourself, be confident, be courageous, be bold, be positive and above
all believe in God and you will achieve your dreams and heart desires,” she
said.
“I have met with over 30
world leaders including Presidents and Prime Ministers, in most of my meetings
with them, I used the opportunity to appealed and advocated for policies that
would enable children most especially, girl child education accessible and
affordable globally, and I have also spoken to parents to always give their
children, especially girl child good and sound education. When a child is
educated, trust me, an aspect of societal related problems have just been taken
care of,” she added.
FRAUSUSS Children
Empowerment Foundation (FSCEF) presented a Phenomenal Award to Zuriel Oduwole
for being an inspiration and role model to young children, most especially girl’s
children globally.
Lead Pastor, Kings and
Priest Way Church, Apostle Praise Bassey, who was an officiating minister at
the event, addressed the children as ‘Young Republic’, he goes further to tell them that: “I do not see
you as less privileged, I see you as great and wonderful children created by
the Almighty God. Therefore, do not believe that you are less privileged. I can
see Senators, lawyers, pilots, Governors, Presidents, Ministers, etc seated
before me, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you,” he
concluded as he ministered and prayed for the children.
The children were so
excited and blessed as Merciful Mercy takes care of their physical needs,
