AKISCOM @ 32: I'll leave AKISCOM better than I met it –Prince Felix Udoh

Prince Felix Udoh, President, AKISCOM Lagos, his wife, exco members and dignitaries cutting the anniversary's cake at the community secretariats, No. 4 Adedapo street, Yaba, Lagos, recently.
The Secretariat of Akwa Ibom State Community (AKISCOM), Lagos came alive last Saturday November 19, 2019 when members of the Community and other Akwa Ibomites within Lagos and its environs rolled out drums to mark her 32nd anniversary.

The Anniversary's cake
It was a joyous moment of thanksgiving to God Almighty for His mercy, protection, love enjoyed; progress and development experienced in the community for the past 32 years.
The event, which took place at the community's Secretariat, No. 4 Adedapo Street off Awonaike Crescent by Tejuosho Road, Yaba, Lagos, was anchored by Mr Mike Odiong and MC Amadok, Akwa Ibom finest comedian.
The venue was filled to the brim as dignitaries and Akwa Ibom State indigenes from all walks of life within and outside Lagos turn out in large numbers.
The officiating Minister, who is also the President, Akwa Ibom Clergy Forum (AICLEF), Lagos, Pastor (Dr) Udo Eyo appreciated God for showering so much love, mercy and blessings without numbers on AKISCOM.
Pastor Eyo, during his anniversary sermon said: "God has AKISCOM in mind, and that God will never leave or forsake AKISCOM."  "He admonished that, the leadership of the community should embark more on empowerment programs, training members on skill acquisitions, and human capital developments, when this is achieved, the community will fulfill her purpose of creation, he added."
Prince Felix Udoh, AKISCOM President, in his welcome address to the mammoth crowd at the event, thanked God especially for His wisdom, protection and all His manifold blessings upon AKISCOM.
He said: "I thank God for His love, mercy and all His manifold blessings to AKISCOM. I thank our Grand Patron, HE, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, for his immense supports and contributions toward the development and progress of AKISCOM.   The Governor, he said, has been the major supporter of AKISCOM.  I sincerely appreciate his efforts; may God continue to bless and be with him. Also, I appreciate my executive officers, all the thirty-one (31) Local Government Associations’ Chairmen and their members for cooperating and uniting together to make AKISCOM what it is today. I thank all the former presidents of AKISCOM and her founding fathers whose foundation and legacies I am building and improving upon for being there always to counsel, advice and making sure that there is unity in AKISCOM.  I appreciate you all.
"He continued: "Before I became the President of AKISCOM in 2017, I made promises to renovate the Secretariat that was dilapidated almost at a point of collapsing, float AKISCOM Investment Company, and start the construction of the proposed AKISCOM Plaza among others." "Today as you can see, the Secretariat is wearing a new look, its undergoing serious construction not even renovation as was planned. We are working on the AKISCOM Investment Company, which I believe before my tenure expires, we will conclude on all the documentations and the investment company will become a reality."
"On the AKISCOM Plaza he said, the major challenge which restrain us from commencing work on the Plaza had to do with meeting up with the various building policies/regulations & approvals of the various relevant ministries/agencies of the Lagos State Government.  These have indeed taken up much of our time as we have had to move from one ministry/agency to another.  Again, we also had the challenge of the Lagos State Government disapproving the building of plaza where the land is located, saying that the area where the land is located is not a business (commercial) area but residential.  To the Glory God, however, we had to go into action to obtain due approval from the Lagos Ministry of Physical and Urban Planning for the change of use.
As I speak, the process of documentations and approvals is well over 90% completed and the building committee chaired by Akp./Barr (Obong) Eyo-Udo is doing a great job, which I must confess that they are making progress and soon work will begin at the site. These and many more have been the challenges we encountered, which restrain us from starting work at the site. But I can assure you that, I will surely deliver as I promised during my electioneering campaign."
Prince Udoh, the 8th President of AKISCOM since 1987 added that: "I will never leave the community as AKISCOM President, the way I met it, God helping me, I will make sure AKISCOM is better off and the desired results will be achieved.
In the area of human rights & security protection of members and other Akwa Ibomites in Lagos, he said: "through my administration, a member of the community, Mr Victor Jones, who was involved in a ghastly accident with Dangote truck loaded with industrial sugar, which left him unconscious on Lagos express road was duly compensated as his hospital bills were paid by the company. Another Akwa Ibomite, late Mr Anietie James from Nsit Ubium LGA, who was murdered by one Mr Chuks from Abia State on August  9, 2019 and the community under my leadership made sure the family of the victim was compensated. Again, a member of the community, Hon. Emmanuel Bassey got an appointment as Special Adviser to Hon. Speaker, AKS House of Assembly, to mention but a few.
"Moreover, we are equally planning on having for the very first time in the community since 1987, a Christmas Carol carnival in December this year, free medical checkup and health seminar for our members most especially women and youths, he added."
Dignitaries who graced the well-attended event were, former Presidents of the community, Elder Etesin Essien, Chief Elijah Ifot, newly elected President-General, Uyo Senatorial District (USD), Lagos chapter, Chief Matthew Udoheyop and his beloved wife, V.P elect, USD, Akp. Nseobot Williams, Chief Etubom Unyime Samson Samson, International President, Akwa-Cross, Chief E. O. Etim, Engr Ekanem, Local Government Associations’ Chairmen in Lagos among others.
In his goodwill message, the immediate past AKISCOM President, Chief Elijah Ifot commended the community for the achievements recorded in the community, and urged members to keep the community’s light shining by supporting the ongoing works and the leadership in order to move AKISCOM forward.
The members and guests were thrilled as they watched the most sought after Reggae Artist, Nature Man popularly known as Bob Jacob performed his favourite single 'Dakkada'. Other artistes who performed at the event were, T-Shock a.k.a, Adiaha Akwa Ibom and gospel singer, Emmanuel Ezekiel. The climax of the ceremony was the cutting of the anniversary cake and there were so much to eat and drink.
Your darling #IBOMCELEBS was there to capture the moment.
