Dignitaries from all walks of life were attracted to the Sheraton Hotels Ikeja, Lagos where CUB Communications, publishers of CM Magazine and operators of Memories TV held the fourth The Light Awards on Saturday, October 27, 2018.

Those honoured at the occasion included Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Deacon Udom Emmanuel. Others were Mr Mike Msuega Yawe, Managing Director, Radio Nigeria Investments Limited, Prof. Akan Bassey Williams, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, and Cordelia Okpei, a media practitioner, among others.
The 2018 awards, themed “Celebrating Outstanding Character, Integrity and Positive Influence,” featured a lecture delivered by Prof. Akan Bassey Williams, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University.
The roll call of dignitaries that graced the epoch-making ceremony included His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbolahan Akanbi Timson, Jagunmolu III of Shomolu Bariga, Lagos State; Pastor Uwem S. Andrew-Essien, Accountant-General, Akwa Ibom State; Chief Elijah Ifot, former President AKISCOM, Lagos.
Also present were Dame Edith Okowa, CEO, 05 Initiative, Mr Unyime Idem, Chairman, Idem Group of companies, Prince Albert Akpor Uba, Publisher, Crime World magazine, Rev Ben Eragbai, founder and President, Divine Appointment Ministry International (DAMI), Pastor (Dr.) Umoren Akpan, General Manager, Intercontinental Distillers Ltd., Lagos and a host of others.
According to Deacon Ubong Andrew-Essien JP, CEO, CUB Communications, “The Light Awards was instituted in 2012 to celebrate men, women and organisations in the country that have impacted the society as light by deeds, in character, integrity and positive influence.”
