Pastor praying at the graveside of late Comrade Dennis Isaac |
AKISCOM Lagos delegates to Uyo for late Comrade Dennis Isaac burial, recently |
The Mountains of Fire and Miracles Ministries
(MFM) conducted the funeral, where the late Dennis Isaac was a committed
member.
AKISCOM Lagos and AKISCOM Youth, was
represented by top executive officers led by Deputy Youth Leader, Akparawa
Emmanuel Eno and Welfare Officer, Mrs Mfon Ibanga. With them also were
Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Osom Joseph, sizzling and
wave-making Akwa Ibom-born gospel artiste, Mr. Boniface Iyang (aka Bonny baba)
among others.
Other delegates came from Nigerian Labour
Congress (NLC), Lagos, Uyo Senatorial District, Lagos, Uyo Local Government
Forum, Lagos, Uyo Senatorial District Youth, Lagos to mention but a few.
Late Dennis until his demise was a worker in
Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), functional member of Nigeria
Labour Congress (NLC), an active member of Akwa Ibom State Community (AKISCOM)
Youth, Lagos, General Secretary of Uyo Local Government Forum, Lagos, Uyo
Senatorial District, Lagos, Uyo Senatorial District Youth (USDY), Lagos and
etc.
At the funeral, everyone became emotional
when late Mr. Dennis' son (older child) mounts the podium to read his father's
biography. He is true carbon copy of his late father. He read the paper
brilliantly and in the process became very emotional, the mood which thrown
almost the entire crowd into weeping and wailing, but the presiding pastor
intervened shortly and encouraged the people to stop crying because our
brother, Dennis is not dead but he is sleeping and that we shall all see him
again if we repent from all our sins and turn to God; for believers don't die,
they only change environment.
His words: "Why are you people crying as
those without hope, our brother, Dennis Isaac is not dead, he is sleeping. He
will rise again on that resurrection morning when all those who died in Christ
shall rise again into life eternal. But you, Jesus Christ is coming very soon,
repent from all your sins if you are a sinner and turn to God so that you will
be able to go with Him when he comes, because nobody knows the time, which may
happen any moment from now. Our brother has finished his assignment here on
earth, and he his now in God's bosom to be comforted and rewarded. So,
weep not for him, but rather, make your ways right with God, it is him (Dennis)
today, it may yours tomorrow. The question is, if it happens, where will you be,”
the pastor asked.
Similar emotions were again experienced at
the graveside when the remains of late Dennis were committed to the mother
earth.
Testimonies of his good and exemplary
lifestyle were shared across the church, family, community and all the groups
and organisations he belongs to.
The officiating pastor, as he round off the
funeral service prayed for the bereaved family, friends and all the guests who
turned up en mass to mourn with the family, that God should grant the soul of
late Dennis eternal rest; also that God should give the bereaved family the
fortitude to bear the irreparable lost, he equally prayed for the journey
mercies to all the guests who came from within and outside the state, that God
should take them to their different destinations peacefully.
It could be recalled that, Late Comrade
Dennis Isaac passed away at his prime age of 53 years on his way to the
hospital on Monday August 27, 2018 after a brief illness. He was married and
blessed with two lovely children, a boy and a girl.
Meanwhile, in his usual manner of generosity
and magnanimity, the Deputy Youth Leader, Akparawa Emmanuel Eno (aka the
working Governor) hosted all the delegates from Lagos to a palatable dinner and
get-together somewhere in Itam, this according him was to ease us of the
tension and mode we were in already.
As if that was not enough, he later took us
to their family house, where we mate with his aged father who is over 90 years
of age, and the mother as well. I must confess this family is blessed.
The lovely couple treated us as kings and
princes. We were spoilt with different traditional dishes and drinks. At this
point we concluded that generosity runs in the blood of this blessed family.
This
nonagenarian took time to pray and blessed each and every one of us, one after
the other. Interestingly, one of us, Mrs Mfon Ibanga requested to be prayed for
the second time, when we asked her why, she said, “This old people’s prayers
work faster and quicker than Ijebu juju,” a comment which erupted us into
controllable cackle.
