For winning the best Actor in Comedy in
the just concluded 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA), Akwa Ibom
State government has announced a grand reception for Ime ‘Bishop’ Umoh.
Special Assistant on Entertainment and
Industry to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; Mr David Sergeant, who
disclosed this to newsmen in Uyo, said, the reception for the newly ‘crowned’
number one Comedian in the entire African Continent will hold on Sunday, 12th
March by 7pm at Eni Stores, Edet Akpan Avenue (4Lane) UYO.
Mr Sergeant, popularly called Utang Akwa
Ibom, used the occasion to congratulate the comic actor, Ime Umoh, for being “the
first in this part of the region to receive the prestigious award”.
He Specifically lauded the State
Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for the massive support and encouragement he gave to
Ime Umoh, before, during and after the process.
Utang Akwa Ibom also praised Okon Lagos
for his “exemplary commitment, dedication, resilience, determination and
patriotism in his chosen career, saying, that is the true dakkada spirit in
action”.
He however, called on all Entertainers in
the State and indeed, good people of Akwa Ibom to come out enmasse this Sunday,
and celebrate with the latest best comedy actor in the entire continent.
Meanwhile, Mr Ime (Bishop) Umoh, who is
the Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom Governor on Ethical and Social
Reorientation, ‘beat’ the like of Ayo Makun (A.Y), Bovi Ugboma ,
Blossom Chukwujekwu, Mike Ezuruonye and
Amaechi Munagor to clinch the prestigious award.
