Immediate past
and maiden queen of Ibom Actors Forum (IAF) Victoria Edet last week celebrated
her birthday with orphans in Lagos.
The ex beauty
queen who turned a year older on Tuesday, August 12 thought it wise to
celebrate her birthday with the orphans at Little Saint Orphanage home located
at Abule Egba in Lagos four days later on Saturday, August 16.
The event, which
was anchored by fast rising and most hilarious Akwa Ibom comedian, Baba De
Baba, started with a red carpet, where stars, friends throng for paparazzi
followed by opening prayers by one of the orphans.
In her speech at
the event, the beautiful and sexy queen said “I want to thank God first and
foremost for a day like this, for adding one more year to my age, and also
affording me the opportunity of celebrating my birthday with these beautiful
people. These children need our love and care, that was why I said to myself,
instead of calling friends together and enjoyment myself as I used to do in the
past, let me do something humanly different this year, let me go to these ones
who ordinarily would not have the privilege of attending my birthday party. Let
me go and celebrates with them and more so, I have this strong passion for the
less privilege and they are so dear to my heart.”
“I use this
medium to call on my fellow well-to-do Nigerians to always remember the needy
and less privileged in their prayers, cash and material things that will make
them feel happy and also have sense of belonging,” she opined.
Shortly after
that was dancing time, the Akwa Ibom-born ex queen and a Political Science
student of Cross Rivers State University was seen dancing and playing with the
children. “From their facial expression, you can see how happy, loved these
children are”, said one of the participants.
“Vickky has she
is fondly called ordinarily would have love to celebrates her birthday with her
friends in any place of her choice, but she choose to do it here, she has a
large heart, in fact she has a heart of gold, she is the kind of lady we want
in this country,” said another friend.”
The kids really
enjoyed as they were seeing playing games, dancing, eating delicious foods and
drinks to their fullness.
The MC and
comedian, Baba De Baba later calls on the children to join the celebrant in
cutting of her birthday cake. Thereafter, gift items, such as, toilet roll, bag
of rice, clothes, indomie noodles etc were donated to the kids.
In attendance
were prominent and well-meaning Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos and beyond;
members of Ibom Actors Forum (IAF), Nollywood actress, Justina Robert,
Chairman, Ibom Actors Forum (IAF), Mr. Edidiong Udoh, President, Akwa Ibom
People’s Mandate Organisation (AKPM), Mr. Brian, comedian Funny Mallam, Akwa Ibom
artise, Point 1, Bob Jacob, friends and family members and many others.
Victoria Edet is
from Uruan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State and she was the immediate
pass and maiden Queen of Ibom Actors Forum (IAF), Lagos chapter from 2011 to
2013.
