PRESS RELEASE: Akwa Ibom State Community, Lagos sets for its maiden Christmas carol service

As part of the activities to mark this year's Christmas celebration, the Akwa Ibom State Community (AKISCOM), Lagos, has concluded arrangement to hold its maiden edition of its Christmas Carol Service.

President of the community, Prince Felix Udoh made this known during the November general meeting held at its Secretariat, Tejuosho, Yaba, Lagos, having inaugurated a 6-man planning
committee to this effect recently, with a task of effectively planning and ensuring success of the event.
He said: "The Carol service will hold on Saturday, 14 December, 2019 at the community's Secretariat, Yaba, from 4pm."
"This will be the first time AKISCOM, Lagos, will be holding a Christmas Carol Service as we join the rest of the world in celebrating and remembering the good birth of Jesus Christ, who is the
reason for the season. It will be memorable and an avenue to reunite Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos", Udoh said.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by the planning committee and jointly signed by its chairman
and secretary, Messrs Michael Odiong and Joseph Osom respectively, the chairman said the committee's commitment to plan a memorable, happy and fun filled Christmas Carol service is a goal the committee is set to achieve, adding that, the Carol Service tagged, 'Emana Mfon' (the good birth), is aimed at remembering and celebrating of the birth of Jesus Christ who is the
light brought to the world to enlighten the heart of men and show the way to salvation.
The statement indicates that the carol service will feature melodious musical rendition from the community's choir, gospel singers, drama, etc., and urged the people to be ready to celebrate
this year's Christmas with the understanding that the main celebration lies in the preparation for His second coming.
Top government functionaries from the state have been invited for the event.
