Day Akwa Ibomites in Lagos drums support for Udom

Amidst heavy downpour and peculiar traffic congestion in Lagos on Saturday, 25th August, 2018, Akwalbomites in Lagos stormed the streets of the financial capital of Nigeria, in a match, to declare their support for Gov. Udom Emmanuel ahead of the 2019 gubernatorial election in their home State.

The indigenes came out enmasse under various groups and colours, chanting praises for His Excellency, as they kicked off a rally tagged " UDOM 2019" with a walk from Itire Road through Ojuelegba, along Western Avenue all the way to the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
The rally was convened by the "Greenlight  Movement", led by its president, Mr. Emma Ekong, and graced by  S.A to the Governor on Media (Lagos),  Lady Victoria Ibanga, P.A on Protocol to the Governor, Mr. Tony Ukpe, P.A on Protocol to Her Excellency, Mrs. Nsikak Ukpanah, Mrs. Idara Okon - former Chairperson, Uyo Local Govt. Area, and others who spoke at the rally.
Addressing the indigenes,  Lady Victoria stressed that Gov. Udom is a man of integrity, and an industrialist with numerous other achievement, thus deserves a second term in office.
The Convener, Mr Ekong while registering his  endorsement made it known that Akwalbomites in Lagos are fully behind Udom Emmanuel following his sterling performance in the area of Food Sufficiency, Security, Poverty Alleviation, Free and compulsory education amongst others.
Mrs. Okon addressed other areas like the renovation and equipping of hospitals, providing free health care to pregnant women, various industries, empowerment programmes, agriculture, and should be voted in come 2019.
Mrs. Ukpanah emphasised the importance of owning a PVC, urging all to get theirs ready, adding that their  vote is their power and should not be sold.
Ex- President, Mboho Ndito Akwa Ibom, Mr. Ifiok Eno, and the incumbent, Mr.Jackson Ekpo voiced that " there is no going back on Udom Emmanuel, Udom must be returned in 2019", they added that, in the face of recession, Gov. Udom still provided employment through his prowess in Industrialization.
Messrs Eno and Ekpo announced that 80% of the indigenes' PVCs have already been revalidated to enable them vote in Uyo, stressing that they should not feel intimidated, but stand firm, and undeterred by detractors.
