Ibom Celebrity Newspaper Publisher, Osom Joseph buries dad amid tears

October 15, 2016 is definitely going to be a day the Osom’s family won’t forget in a hurry as your amiable Ibom Celebrity Newspaper (online) publisher, Osom Joseph will bury his father, Leader (PTE) Bassey Edet Osom. The late Leader Bassey Edet Osom died on March 20, 2016 during a brief illness. He was 76 years old.

Before his death, PTE. Bassey Osom joined the Nigerian Army on September 27, 1967 at the age of 27 years. He continued serving his fatherland after the war and was retired due to injury he sustained during the war in December, 1977 and was on pension till he died.

The late Leader, Bassey E. Osom spent the greater part of his life as a farmer after retirement from the military. 

He was a devout Christian in Methodist Church Nigeria, IniAbasi Circuit, Diocese of Adadia. He was promoted leader of the church; the position he held till his death.

The funeral service will be held in his home town, Ikot Edebe, Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

He had two wives and blessed with twelve children and grandchildren.
