NSIT Atai LGA: Hon. Emem Ibanga sworn-in new executives…Tasks officers on commitment to duty


The Chairman, Nsit Atai Local Government Council, Hon Lady Emem Ibanga has administered oath of office to five Supervisors and four Special Advisers to constitute the Executive Council of the Local Government Area.

Those sworn into office as Supervisors are Pastor Wisdom Edet, Mr Barry James, Miss Uduak Akpan, Mr Akwaowo Ukana and Mr Aniefiok Asuquo while the Special Advisers include Mr Johnny Johnny, Mrs Aniekan Stephen, Mr Etim Ikpe and Mr Samuel Ekanem.
Inaugurating the Executive Council, Hon Emem Ibanga charged the appointees to see themselves as willing hands in the call to service and urged them to brace up for the demands of the new office, reminding them that to whom much is given, much is expected.
Lady Ibanga spoke of her preparedness to tap from their wealth of experience to work for the actualization of the lofty programmes of her administration and sued for team work and support for the attainment of the set goals.
Lady Ibanga expressed appreciation to the state and Local Chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for finding them worthy for the appointment, explaining that the party was meticulous in the selection process to appoint them into the council and congratulated them for the elevation.
The Council boss particularly thanked the Leader of the party and state Governor, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel for giving them opportunity to contribute to the development of the area.
She promised to reciprocate the gesture by delivering on her electioneering campaign manifesto in line with the pragmatic leadership strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel, assuring that they would leave the saddle better than they came to witness.
Lady Ibanga reiterated her determination to mobilize the people for the return a block vote to ensure the reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019.
Earlier, the Head of Local Government Service, Elder Bassey Udoh while welcoming the guest to the occasion, described the event as a dawn of a new era in the political development of the area, stressing that the appointees should see their elevation as a call for service rather than an invitation to share in the proverbial national cake.
He congratulated them on the appointment and assured of a conducive work environment as well as cooperation of staff to enable them deliver on their mandate.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries including Vice Chairman of the Council Hon. Idorenyin Inyang, Secretary, Dr Nseabasi Udoeyo, Managing Director Eminence Oil and Chemicals, Mr Emmanuel Okon, Chapter Chairman of PDP, Engr Chris Okon, Commissioner for Economic Development, Mr Idorenyin Udoh, Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring Hon. Aniefiok Attah, Former Transition Chairman, Hon. Edet Okon, Former Council Chairman Hon. Prince Sunny Ossom, Councillors,Women and Youth Groups among others.
